Comparison between Vision and Mission statements
Examples are one of the best ways of illustrating the difference between the two types of statements:
Vision statements express your goals — what you want to see without worrying how you got there. Mission statements have actions leading to goals.
Using mountain climbing as an analogy:
- The vision is what you will be able to see from the summit — that is your goal.
- The mission is to climb to the top, no matter the obstacles.
